To Foster the Global Member Network of Koreans and Korean Enthusiasts

The founders of igoo.com are just like you - Korean (or a Korean enthusiast), young (well, young at heart), working or studying (or doing nothing), and eager to understand what life has to offer our kind in the Western world. We initially recognized that the Internet would offer Koreans around the world the ability to collaborate on ideas, share wisdom, and generally make the world a better place. Well, none of this has really happened, so we decided to throw our own anchor in what is an already-crowded sea of Asian vertical websites. You see, we believe the Web is the ultimate forum for sharing wisdom, and although there are plenty of Korean and Asian sites out there, we realized that we NEVER VISITED THEM. Honestly, the offerings out there are slim, and the truly great ones aren't fully realized yet. We want to help you find the needles in the cyber-haystack.

Why Korean?

Let's just say that the founders are all Korean and we really have no expertise or insight into other Asian cultures (although hopefully that will change). We also understand that offline behaviours translate on a 1:1 basis online - in other words, if you eat kimchi with your fingers at 3AM on Fridays, you will want to share that experience with like-minded individuals rather than expose your shorts to people who have no idea what kimchi (or beer-munchies) are.

What do you do?

Our community portal is predicated on three precepts: Respect, Integrity, and Fun. We apply these precepts in everything we do at igoo.com - every article, every meeting, every event will be presented specifically to add value to everyone's experience. After all, if you aren't enjoying yourself in our community, why come back?

To serve this mission, our channels are each managed by a staff member or "guide." This guide exists to listen and respond to your requests; you don't like an article? Say so, and thy will be done. You wanna hear more about the Korean party scene in NYC? Our guide will go, party, and report back to you. You need a job? Our guides will answer your career questions and even give you tips on improving your resume. So you see, unlike other community portals, this community actually cares about what you say, when you say it. Our tagline is Smart.Yellow.Fun - and we follow that faithfully.

How can I join?

Just register - and don't worry, we will not use your information for anything other than igoo.com business (see our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions). Once registered, you will be part of a thriving international community chock full of funky polls, articles, lively message boards, chats, and hilarious personal pages. You can also take advantage of igoo's cool messaging system!
